Collection: Our Nature Programs:

Little Hikers Long Island is a fun, all-outdoor nature program for kids ages 2–6 and their caregivers. We meet at West Hills County Park (Long Island, NY) to explore, play, and learn in nature!

Each session begins with a short circle time where we introduce the day’s theme — a bug, plant, or animal. Then we grab our binoculars, magnifying glasses, or shovels and head off on a short, easy hike.

Along the way, we search for the bugs we talked about — or signs that it was nearby, like tracks, chewed leaves, or tiny hiding spots. We dig in the dirt, peek under logs, listen for bird calls, and follow our curiosity.

After our adventure, we sit down under beautiful oak trees to create a nature-themed craft using paint, glue, or natural materials. On rainy days, we might splash in puddles or play fun nature games instead — the fun never stops!

All materials are provided, including crafts, games, binoculars, magnifying glasses, shovels, and more, so the only thing your child needs to bring is a sense of adventure.

Parking is free at West Hills County Park. Our program operates with a permit.

Little Hikers is all about helping kids grow curious, creative, and confident while enjoying the outdoors. It’s a great way for families to spend quality time together, connect with like-minded friends, and build a lifelong love of nature.
