*When booking, please select the day you would like to attend; the price reflects a 4-week program that meets once a week for one parent/caregiver and child together.
August at Little Hikers Long Island is all about slowing down and noticing the small details of nature. Children explore lush trees, butterflies, millipedes, soft moss, and tiny creatures hiding along the trail while learning why trees have leaves, how insects move, and where plants grow best. Each week includes hands-on exploration, movement, and a nature-based craft, giving young children real outdoor experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and a growing connection to the natural world.
Each class will include:
• A few minutes of free play (stepping stones, cones, movement games)
• A short circle time to learn about nature/bugs
• An interactive trail exploration with binoculars, magnifying glasses, or shovels
• A hands-on group activity or a craft
