Woodland Teddy Bear Clinic (Aug 30)

Does your child LOVE putting Band-Aids on everything? Then they will LOVE this magical outdoor experience!

During this special event, children will become little woodland doctors and help care for teddy bears surrounded by the beautiful trails of West Hills County Park (Huntington, NY)

Each child will receive a teddy bear patient to care for during our woodland clinic and take home at the end of the event.

Our little doctors will give their teddy a name and, together with their parent, complete a teddy bear wellness checklist. We'll decide where teddy's pain is, look for scratches and boo-boos, check for broken bones, and determine how much help our patient needs.

We'll learn where teddy's heart, lungs, and tummy are located and practice listening to teddy's heartbeat and breathing with a stethoscope.

Then it's time to help our teddy feel better! We'll put Band-Aids on scratches, wrap broken arms and legs, and care for our furry patients just like real doctors.

But uh-oh... our teddies have tummy aches!

To help teddy feel better, we'll create a magical woodland healing potion. Children will crush fragrant rosemary, mint, lavender, sage, chamomile, flower petals, and other herbs between their fingers, smell the fresh scents, mix natural ingredients together, and create a special potion to take home for their teddy bear.

We'll also head out on a short woodland nature walk with our teddy bears to look for bugs, birds, butterflies, and other tiny nature discoveries along the trail. We'll end the event by popping bubbles with our teddy bears!

Each child will take home:

• A teddy bear patient they cared for

• A stethoscope used during the clinic

• A magical woodland healing potion in a teddy bear container

• And of course... the sweetest outdoor childhood memories

Program Details:

Location: West Hills County Park,  Huntington, NY 
Age: 2–6 years old (Registration is for 1 child & adult, parent must stay for the program)

*All special event registrations are final. No refunds or makeups will be offered. In the event of dangerous weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled: (7.16 will be rescheduled to 7.23 and 8.13 will be rescheduled to 8.27)

*Makeup classes from the nature program cannot be transferred or used toward special events.
